Flight discounts from South Africa and North America

Travel to Liverpool

From within UK

Liverpool is served by mainline trains from London Euston (2.5 hours, running hourly) Birmingham New Street (1 hr 45 minutes, hourly) Manchester stations (50 minutes, frequent) and Leeds (2 hours, hourly), arriving at Liverpool Lime Street station. Domestic flights from Belfast arrive at Liverpool John Lennon airport, eight miles south of the city centre. Other domestic routes, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, go to Manchester Airport.

If you are driving to Liverpool from the South, take the M6 to junction 21A, then the M62 to Liverpool, where you should follow signs for the City Centre. Refer to directions issued by your hotel, or, if heading directly to the BT Convention Centre, look for signs for the Albert Dock, which will take you via the A59 onto the A5053 heading for the Albert Dock. Follow the Yellow AA Signs marked Echo Arena. The nearest car park to the BT Convention Centre is on site: turn off at Queens Wharf where you will find a 1,600 space multi-storey car park.

If you are driving to Liverpool from the North, take the M6 to junction 26 and follow signs marked M58 Liverpool. Continue to the end of the M58 and follow signs for A59 Liverpool, where you should follow signs for the City Centre. Refer to directions issued by your hotel, or, if heading directly to the BT Convention Centre, look for signs for the Albert Dock, which will take you right off the A59 onto the A5053 heading for the Albert Dock. Follow the Yellow AA Signs marked Echo Arena. The nearest car park to the BT Convention Centre is on site: turn off at Queens Wharf where you will find a 1,600 space multi-storey car park.

If you are using SatNav to navigate to the BT Convention Centre, please use the postcode L74 4AA. Otherwise we recommend the RAC route planner to assist with detailed driving instructions. Please use your hotel's postcode (to be found on our hotels page), or that of the BT Convention Centre, L3 4FP.

From overseas

Easyjet and Ryanair flights from Dublin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon, Madrid, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Warsaw and other European destinations arrive at Liverpool John Lennon airport, eight miles south of the city centre. More international flights (including from North America and Asia) arrive at Manchester Airport, about an hour's onward journey away, from where there are direct links by coach and rail to Liverpool city centre. Other flights will go to London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports, from where domestic flight connections to Manchester may be made (recommended), or onward travel by train or coach is possible.

Getting to your hotel

Most recommended conference hotels are in the Albert Dock area, around the BT Convention Centre. Although the distance is not great, for those arriving by train with luggage, we recommend taking a taxi from Lime Street station to your hotel - but please check with your hotel's website to confirm location (note that the Holiday Inn City Centre is very close to the station and therefore a taxi should not be necessary).

From Liverpool John Lennon airport, taxis to the city centre cost around £12 for the 20-minute journey. Manchester Airport has trains running hourly (between 06:30 and 19:30) direct to Liverpool Lime Street Station (approx. 70 minutes) or is about a 45-60 minute drive away.
