Internationalisation of Research: A Vice-Chancellor's Perspective
Professor Drummond Bone, Vice-Chancellor, University of Liverpool
Globalisation applies to higher education and to research as much as to any other walk of life. Professor Drummond Bone will discuss the development of global research activities, and how the sector, and individual institutions are adapting to the changing environment. As Vice-Chancellor of Liverpool, Professor Bone has led the institution in its development as a global brand, including the establishment of a new joint university in China, based on a major industrial park. He is also the immediate past President of Universities UK, and hence is able to bring a UK policy perspective into the discussion, and is currently leading the internationalisation strand of the UK Government's review of Higher Education.
